MINUTES OF THE VMC MEETING HELD ON 29/08/09

The Vidyalaya Management Committee meeting was held on 29th August, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. in the Principal’s Office under the Chairmanship of Shri D.D. Adhikari, Hounourable Chairman, VMC, KV, HPCL, Jagiroad, Chief Executive, Nagaon Paper Mills, Jagiroad.

The minutes of the first VMC meeting of the session 2009-10 are as follows :-

ACADEMIC:

As a first item, the academic development of the Vidyalaya was taken up. The Principal informed to the house that there is a considerable improvement in the Board class result in comparison to the previous year. It was also pointed out that Master Himanshu Neog scored 478/500 with 2nd position in the Guwahati region.

Further the Principal explained the strategies which will be adopted during the current session like, monitoring syllabus completion, copy checking on regular basis, regular class tests besides scheduled Unit Tests and Cumulative Tests. The Chairman also suggested that discipline must not be compromised. The suggestion was welcomed by all and the Principal also told that there would be no compromise with discipline.

CONSTRUCTION:

The Principal informed that construction of Computer Room is under progress. It was also pointed out that the Primary Resource Room, Activity Room and Junior Science Lab are very much essential. The Chairman pointed out that it is not possible to take up any new construction work due to some financial and administrative constraints. However, Shri S.N. Pandey, DGM(Engg) was asked by the Chairman to complete the pending work and do the needful for smooth running of the Vidyalaya.

DEVELOPMENT OF PLAYGROUND:

The Principal informed the house that the playground is required to be leveled with earth filling. The Chairman agreed and Shri S.N. Pandey, DGM(Engg) to look into the matter for earth filling and leveling of the ground.

INTERNET CONECTIVITY:

The Principal requested the Chairman to provide with VSAT facilities for the computer labs as the present Broadband connectivity is not sufficient to meet the need of the students.The Chairman & Principal proposed Guidance and Career Counseling be provided to students by calling experts in this field. Shri J.S. Minhas on behalf of Shri P.R. Jambolkar assured that he would extend his help in this regard.

APPROACH ROAD:

The road leading further the main gate to the Vidyalaya need elevation and proper drainage facility. The Chairman replied that this work will be taken up after the completions of Highways work.

FUND RELATED ISSUES:

The Principal informed that an amount of Rs. 50 Lakhs has been released till date and subsequent fund release is required to meet the payment of 6th Pay Commission implementation.

OTHER ISSUES:

The Principal raised the point for the need of grass cutting machine purchase approval. The Chairman suggested Shri S.N. Pandey, DGM(Engg) to provide assistance to solve this problem from Management side.
